Delicious traditional roosterkoek (bread made on a barbecue). At the turnoff to the Flood Museum. Look out for the red trailer in the parking lot. Definitely worth stopping for!

We detoured from our route to go taste Auntie Poppies Vetkoek (rosterkoek). This was so rewarding, Her rosterkoek is delicious. the outside if crispy and the inside soft and light and very tasty. I recommend this completely. She also told us of her travels to France and the people she met there. Just a pity that the Council in Laingsburg or the Tourism Department could not give her a covering for her stand since she attract lots of tourist to Laingsburg.

Anti Poppie, it was great seeing you again today. We have been stopping there on and off over the last couple of years. Nothing fresher and tastier. Your cheese and biltong roosterkoek is tasty. We always buy extra plain ones for the road and make our own next to the road. Nothing better to experience the taste of the Karoo. Please stop and support this lovely lady.
